Best Digital Innovation 2020

This award recognised an NZ business or organisation that demonstrates the biggest innovation within the digital field within the last 12 month. Entries into this category must fit within one of three sub-categories:

  1. Best Broadband Innovation
  2. Best Innovation in Healthcare
  3. Best Innovation in Education and Training.

1. BEST BROADBAND INNOVATION 2020

This category is open to NZ businesses or organisations that demonstrate the biggest innovation within the NZ Broadband sector of the last 12 mths. Open to ISPs and organisations that work within, support or provide to the NZ broadband industry.

An ‘innovation’ is defined as any product, service or advance in the provision of broadband services to the New Zealand population through technology, service, facilities or pricing.

Eligiblity

An entry in this category must be related to an Innovation within the New Zealand Broadband sector within the 12 month period from 1st August 2019 to 31st July 2020.

Judging Criteria

Each award application must begin with a brief overview of the company, product or service that relates to the category you are entering. This will allow judges to understand what is on offer, what experience you have in the provision of broadband services and the scale of the business (maximum 500 word count).

Entries (maximum 1,500 word count excluding testimonials) will then be assessed against the following criteria:

The entry should include details of:

1. Opportunity (20%)
What was the market opportunity identified and what problems or issues did this innovation project solve for the organisation or customer?

2. What value was delivered to the consumer/customer? (20%)
Describe the value delivered to the consumer/customer both now and in the future.

3. Leadership & Innovation (20%)
How has this innovation positively affected the organisation and/or your customers? Describe how it has had a positive impact on your organisation; market share in NZ, engagement of customers and other form of growth.

4. Testimonials (20%)
Please provide some comments/feedback relating to the innovation

5. Analysis (20%)
Evidence of success in attracting more customers, improving efficiencies and/or retaining business as a result of the innovation.


2. BEST INNOVATION IN HEALTHCARE 2020

Recognises the most innovative use of technology and digital communications to deliver services in a new and innovative way which contributes to improved healthcare.

Eligiblity

An entry in this category must be related to innovative use of technology and digital communications to deliver services in a new and innovative way which contributes to improved healthcare Zealanders within the 12 month period from 1st August 2019 to 31st July 2020.

Entry criteria

Each award application must begin with a brief overview of the company, product or service that relates to the category you are entering. This will allow judges to understand what is on offer, what experience you have in the provision of a or set of wireless services as well as the scale of the business (maximum 500 word count).

Entries (maximum 1,500 word count excluding testimonials) will then be assessed against the following criteria:

1. Product or Service delivered (30%)
Describe the services that you offer that is targeted at the provisions of healthcare in NZ.

2. Leadership and Innovation (40%)
How does your organisation show leadership and innovation in the delivery of this service that has led to an improvement in the quality and effectiveness of healthcare that may result from the initiative.  How unique is the service or the level of originality.

3. Ease of use / reliability (20%)
How easy is the service to use and how consistent has the service delivery been.

4. Testimonials (10%)
Please provide up to three testimonials (maximum 250 word count per testimonial) from consumer, industry commentators or business customers why your service should win over and above other entrants.


3. BEST INNOVATION IN EDUCATION & TRAINING 2020

For the most innovative education or training product, service or initiative developed in New Zealand and delivered electronically to New Zealanders, which contributes to general education (applicable to whole of life learning, e.g. business, community, primary, secondary, tertiary, etc.) 

Eligibility

An entry in this category must be related to an innovation within an education or training product, service or initiative developed in New Zealand and delivered electronically to New Zealanders within the 12 month period from 1st August 2019 to 31st July 2020.

Entry criteria

Each award application must begin with a brief overview of the company, product or service that relates to the category you are entering. This will allow judges to understand what is on offer, what experience you have in the provision of a or set of wireless services as well as the scale of the business (maximum 500 word count).

Entries (maximum 1,500 word count excluding testimonials) will then be assessed against the following criteria:

1. Product or Service delivered (30%)
Describe the services that you offer that is targeted at general education and training in NZ.

2. Leadership and Innovation (40%)
How does your organisation show leadership and innovation in the delivery of this service that has led to an increase in uptake, attractiveness and/or outcomes in learning.  How unique is the service or the level of originality.

3. Ease of use / reliability (20%)
How easy is the service to use and how consistent has the service delivery been.

4. Testimonials (10%)
Please provide up to three testimonials (maximum 250 word count per testimonial) from consumer, industry commentators or business customers why your service should win over and above other entrants.


Important information for all entries:

Please read this information thoroughly before completing the online entry template. The 2020 awards will be open for entry on 8th July 2020, and must be submitted via the online entry portal.

General Conditions of Entry:

All sections of the entry must be completed and submitted in writing and comply with required entry templates, word limits and other guidelines specified by Broadband Compare.

Candidates should ensure that information provided is relevant and sufficient to allow the judges to properly assess their entry.

All information provided will be kept confidential by Broadband Compare and the judging panel.

Entrants accept that their details may be used in publicity of the awards.

The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Judges reserve the right to re-allocate entries to alternative, more appropriate, categories.

How to enter

Each entry costs $99 + GST. There is no limit to the number of categories you enter. You will be invoiced for your entries upon confirmed submission.

Regardless of the size or profitability of your business within the NZ telecommunications industry, there is a category to suit you. The only challenge is choosing the category that gives you the best chance of success. Information available at https://www.broadbandawards.co.nz/categories.php

The best advice is to start your entry early so that you can continue to refine your submission prior to the deadline date of 16:00 on 26 August 2020. Just make sure you register and submit your entry and pay prior to this deadline to ensure your entry is valid. You need to submit your completed entry online via the awards portal site at https://www.judgify.me/broadbandawards2020  

This is what will be submitted to the judges as your final entry and must include any supplementary material that you feel will help the judges to assess your entries.

When you enter your registration details on the Broadband Awards website, an invoice will be generated and emailed to you. This can be paid via direct payment to our bank account.
